Family time..Finished Bumper pads

Me, getting to pose with the boys!

DD and DS....they look like they have always gotten along so well, don't they? heh.........................

We got to see DD, DS and the twins this weekend. Here is a photo of the boys with their (finally!) completed bumper pads.

Photo of a "Windmill Farm" taken between Post and Snyder, Texas, last year sometime. Look closely to see the windmills on the top of the mesa (see my comments below about needing a better camera!)

Work is progressing on the "Mystery Project". I am hoping to see my DD and the twins this weekend so I will have to stop work on the mystery project to finish up the baby bumper pad that I started so long ago. The twins are about to be old enough to be in their big baby bed instead of the bassinets, so they will need the bumper pad soon!

Last night I went and got a bigger memory card for my digital camera, too. Now maybe I can take 900 photos of the twins instead of just 40. :) My camera is so "old" (we got it in 2004) that it only has 200 pixels, so when we went to get the memory card, I think DH finally realized we needed one with higher pixels! :) Maybe there will be a new camera in "Grandmommy's" future!
**EDITED TO ADD: I got offered the job! Ya hoo!

Sort of...a job update

Cross your fingers! I got a call from Human Resources yesterday right at 5:00 p.m., "quitting" time.....and I missed it!!!! I was away from my desk, making copies for a meeting we are having today! Hopefully, the HR rep will call back this morning with an interview time. I am pretty sure I have the job, "unofficially", but there could always be a glitch of some kind!

I have steadily been crocheting on the Mystery project but can't show any photos of it for now, as a photo might "give it away".

For Father's day and MIL/FIL's Anniversary combined, we chipped in with BIL & SIL and bought them one of those new "digital" photo frames. It is really cool and can hold up to 3200 pictures, has a video feature, a music feature, etc.... Can't wait to get it all set up for them!

Updates

Another Grand-twins update photo. DD took it with her cell phone camera. The boys are now 12 lbs each, after starting out at 4.9 and 5.1. From the looks of the photos, they are hearty eaters! :)

Not much crochet progress to report. I didn't work on anything yesterday, at all. Instead, I did all my "running around doing errands" last night after work. I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics to look at yarn because I am at the point of changing colors on my Mystery Project, and don't know what color I want to use. I can't really ask for help on color choices "out loud" on my blog, or my buddy might figure out the surprise! I had picked up one color I thought I would try, but it might be too close in color to be the contrast I want it to be. Decisions, decisions!

And speaking of decisions.....the job opening has been posted, and yesterday at quitting time, I let my immediate supervisor know I was planning on applying. She then proceeded to tell me that SHE is planning on going job hunting soon, due to high gas prices and having to drive so far back and forth (she lives on the far side of Dallas and we work in Fort Worth), and asked if I would be interested in possibly being offered HER job if she leaves! I might....but the work would still be the same old, same old..... and I have no guaranty that our department boss would offer ME anything. I have to take the application form to my Department boss for signature this morning, so I can turn it in to Human Resources. Wish me luck with it all!

Fat Bottom progress, another new project started.....

Yes, you read it right! I am almost halfway done with the fat bottom bag, and got a wild hair to start another project (in the middle of the night last night, when I woke up and couldn't sleep) that I have been wanting to start. I can show a photo of the second project right now, but as I get further along, it will have to wait until the end to be shown or talked about, so a certain "someone" won't know exactly what they are getting as a gift. And they will probably partially guess it right anyway, just from seeing this......

In other news, I am seriously thinking about applying for another job that is coming open within my company, probably next week. I have spoken to the supervisor of that area already, and feel I might have a shot at getting it, since it is more similar to work I have done for about 20 years. I feel like I am stagnant at the department I am at, and don't see any changes on my horizon any time soon. What work is available is extremely boring to me, and not much of it right now. I have continuously volunteered and helped in other areas as much as possible, but its not steady work, either. Our company is growing (just not my particular department right now) and I keep getting assured there will be "more to do", but I have been waiting for it to "pick up" for about 6 months now. Heh, heh, I bet most of you don't usually hear people complain about not having enough work! :)

Here's an interested observer (above) and an updated photo of my Grand-twins (below)!

Back in the Saddle again!

Last night, I finally started a new crochet project. Can anyone guess what it will be? :) Yes, it IS the notorious Fat Bottom Bag (again) ! I have been cruising around in Ravelry lately, trying to get my crochet mojo back, and have seen some different versions that I liked. Since I already have the book, and finally finished up the bag I had been working on, I decided I can never have too many Fat Bottom Bags, and started another one!

The last one I made was with leftover stashed Noro yarn, (see below), and while it turned out o.k., I didn't like how limp it looks and feels, and I have decided I don't like the color of the other purple wool that I used for the purse handles when I ran out of the Noro. I will be making the new one using up more "stash", but this time using the old "stiff yarn" standby....Redheart Yarn, in the "Watercolor" colorway. I am hoping I will like this one more!
